Lens Depth Distortions

Telephoto

Focal Length: 50mm = (75mm)

  •  Background more flat
  • less sense of space

Wide Angle

Focal Length: 24mm = (36mm)

  • You get more of the background (obviously)
  • You feel as if there is space between the foreground and background.
  • More distortion

Wide Angle

Focal Length: 24mm = (36mm)

  • More of a sense of space
  • You see less of the table legs
  • The closer towards the the edge of the photo the father the objects seem.
  • The closer to the centre of the photo the closer the objects seems
  • You see more of the bottom of the chairs.

I find my camera did an over okay job with the noise reduction. As the noise reduction got higher the image got slightly more soft in an attempt to reduce the noise.

WB: Auto

WB: Shade

WB: Fluorescent

WB: Shade
The white balances changed the colour of the image in an attempt to make the image neutral, so for shade it made the scene slightly more warm and orange in an attempt to get rid of the blue that comes when shooting in shade. While the fluorescent white balance made the image more purple in order to try and cancel out the green hue that fluorescent lights tend to give off.

For the last image I used shade in order to give a warm effect to the photo but the photo ended up being underexposed the the white balance came out a lot more darker then what I was hoping for. I the scene was properly exposed I think that it would of definitely given the scene a warm and inviting feel to it, but in this situation the orange just ended up making the scene look strange and unnatural.

Still Life Scene

F/stop 2.0
Shudder 1/160
ISO 400

F/stop 5.0
Shudder 1/40
ISO 800

F/stop 16
Shudder 1/4
ISO 800
The images go from top to bottom the top one having the smallest F/stop while the bottom one has the largest F/stop.

In the one that has the smallest f/stop you can see how the background (the grey part of the wall separating the wall from the floor) is not to well in focus. As you move along the background get sharper and by the final one the background is very defined and in focus.
In order to achieve this every time I would move the f/stop I would count to see how many times stops I moved it, then I would a just the shudder speed accordingly the the amount of stops, making for the same exposure.  found the most effective image was the last even though there isn't much i the background if there was I find it would give you a better sense of the scene, rather than just having the object.

F/stop 1.4
Shudder 1/640
ISO 100

F/stop 16
Shudder 1/100
ISO 400

When the background is sharper it tends to give the image more of a story rather then it being just a portrait, since we get the person as well as the location, and not just the person with a blurry background.
