Histograms

Varied Tones
 Dark Tones
White Tones

  • The histogram on the all white tones shows that there are more pixels to the right.
  • I think most of the pixels in this photo would print out since the histogram shows that there isn't any clipping.

  • For the dark tones the histogram shows that there are more pixels to the left.
  • In this photo you can see on the histogram there is slight clipping. In this case if the image was printed then the printer would not be able to print those parts in detail.

  • For the varied toned image the histogram shows the pixels pretty spread out but there seems to be slightly more towards the left.
  • I don't believe that there would be some parts that have trouble printing in detail since the image seems to be well versed in different tones.
  • I do think my camera is properly exposing the high-key & low-key since at least in the dark toned image there seems to be multiple tones within the dark setting.
  • I would say the histogram that shows the most dynamic range is the one with the photo that has the most range of tones.
